Before Brooklyn’s Williamsburg became the “hipster” hub it is today, a whole different world existed. Just looking at the architecture, you can feel a strong sense of history behind the neighborhood, which was once a thriving immigrant district.
With our studio based on the border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint, we walk past these old buildings every day that now co-exist next to luxury high-rise condos, shops, and restaurants. While the Domino Sugar Factory is currently being demolished, some spaces have been repurposed into modern businesses or residences. We took a stroll around the area and snapped photos of the old and new.
