It would be easy to pass Keino Sasaki’s unassuming Brooklyn workshop and think nothing of it. It’s only when the rolling grate folds onto itself and reveals the space inside that it becomes clear there is a story to tell.

It is here where Keino, one of the founders of the Brooklyn Invitational Custom Motorcycle Show, brings one-of-a-kind motorcycles to life. His workshop reflects his lifelong love affair with custom bikes and is filled with everything from the skeletons of half-finished projects, to a golden bike engraved with koi fish, and one very old shop cat.

As part of an upcoming documentary, ROOT Motion sat down with Keino to discuss his work, bike culture, and what’s next for the Brooklyn Invitational.
