No matter where you come from, the act of preparing food transcends our biological need to eat. Every culture uses the universal language of food to celebrate, tell stories, and bring people together.
Located a short walk from our ROOT BKN location, the Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) seeks to educate and inspire people by exploring this universal aspect of the human experience.
We took a field trip to MOFAD’s current exhibition, ‘Chow: Making the Chinese American Restaurant’, a celebration of the cultural and culinary contributions of Chinese Americans. With restaurant menus dating to the early 1900’s, live cooking demonstrations, and a make-your-own fortune cookie exhibit, Chow is a unique, entertaining experience for the senses.
