With so many interesting things happening at The Met, we couldn’t help but take a field trip uptown to check out their current exhibitions.

The first stop our tour was The Costume Institute’s spring 2017 exhibition, which examines the work of fashion designer Rei Kawakubo. The show highlights her avant-garde designs, with more than 140 examples of Kawakubo’s womenswear for Comme des Garçons on display.

After soaking in Kawakubo’s high-fashion feast for the eyes, we visited the Irving Penn Centennial, a retrospective celebrating the great American photographer’s 70-year career – 100 years after the artist’s birth. The exhibition features more than 150 photographs by Penn, representing every period of the artist’s dynamic career with the camera.

See them for yourself!
